Symbolism In, The Old Man And The Sea

In the book I am reading now, The Old Man And The Sea, i think the fish that the old man and the boy are trying to catch symbolizes their struggle, and is the only force that can bring this old man down, and stop him from ever fishing again.

Never thought a fish could symbolize struggle but that is a different way to interpret. Maybe it not only symbolizes struggle but also pride. Pride the man feels after he catches the fish, knowing he can do so. Hope you enjoy reading.

Wouldn't the fish be like a goal, because that's what he's reaching for? Well, i wouldn't know cause i'm not reading your book, so yeahh...Comment me =D

I didn't read the book, so I dont know what "struggle" you're talking about, but keep reading anyway!
